Accommodation Requests

Please let us know how best to accommodate you at the GWWC. Drop-ins are always welcome in the GW Writing Center; however, accommodations involving resources from outside our Center may take us additional time.

How do I Request an Accommodation?

Once you have booked an appointment in WC Online, please submit an Accommodation Request form to let us know if you have any accommodation needs for your appointment.

What if I Have General Accommodation Questions?

You can always reach out to our Coordinator at [email protected] if you have any general or follow up questions about appointment accommodations.

GW Writing Center Accessibility Feedback

The GWWC is committed to working with disabled and non-disabled writers. If you have feedback on how we can better accommodate your needs in the future, please let us know by filling out our Accessibility Feedback Form.

If you have experienced a breach of the GWWC's Community Standards and would like to report a concern about an employee or administrator, please submit a Concern Report form.

Quiet Shifts
In a continuing communal effort to make our space more accessible and comfortable for all our clients and consultants, we're beginning a new "Quiet Shifts" program. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays of this semester we will have dedicated shifts with attention to lower traffic and quieter conversation from 9am - 12 noon. You may choose these times because you work better with fewer distractions, you find it easier to hear when there is less background noise, you want to bring in material that is personal and want to ensure that you can speak about it quietly, and or for another reason entirely.
While we hope these hours will be chosen by folks looking for this specific atmosphere, anyone is invited to book appointments during these times as usual, and for any reason. We do ask, however, that if you book an appointment during a Quiet Shift that you are mindful of keeping the space at a comfortably low volume and energy level.
If you're interested in learning more about quiet shifts, please feel free to reach out to the GWWC director or coordinator for more information.

WC Online Text-Only

The GW Writing Center's appointment website, WC Online, is accessible with a screen reader. The text-only area can be accessed through the ACCESS TEXT-ONLY/ACCESSIBLE & MOBILE VERSION link that appears at the top left of nearly every page in WC Online and is intended for use with screen-reading programs and other accessibility tools.
